A new year often brings reflection: How do I wa
nt to grow as a leader? Where can I contribute my skills in a meaningful way? How can I stay connected to my community?
At Roaring Fork Leadership, we believe leadership is not about titles – it’s about participation, service, and showing up with intention. As we begin the year ahead, we are inviting community members to consider joining RFL as a Board Director or Committee Member.
Serving in a leadership role with RFL is an opportunity to help shape the future of leadership development across the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys — while continuing your own journey of learning and growth.
Board Service: Strategic Leadership & Long-Term Impact
RFL is currently seeking three new Board Directors to join our board for the 2026 calendar year. Board members serve a three-year term and play a vital role in guiding the organization’s strategy, financial sustainability, and long-term vision.
Board responsibilities include:
- Participation in monthly board meetings
- Service on at least one committee aligned with your interests and expertise
- Acting as an ambassador for RFL in the community
- Supporting fundraising and resource development efforts
Board members also have the opportunity to serve on the Executive Committee, with Treasurer and Secretary roles currently open. These positions offer a deeper level of organizational leadership and are ideal for individuals interested in governance, finance, or nonprofit operations.
Committee Service: Flexible, Project-Based Leadership
For those seeking a more flexible or time-bound way to get involved, committee service offers a meaningful entry point. Committee members typically serve 1–3 years, depending on capacity, and may focus on a specific project, initiative, or event.
Committee roles include:
- Marketing & Communications
- Development & Finance
- Alumni Engagement
- Programming
- Golf Tournament & Special Events
Committee members meet monthly and work closely with board leadership and staff to advance RFL’s strategic priorities. This is an excellent option for professionals who want to contribute their skills, expand their network, or explore nonprofit leadership without the commitment of board service.
Why Serve with Roaring Fork Leadership?
Current board and committee members often share that their involvement with RFL has:
- Strengthened their leadership and governance skills
- Deepened their connection to the community
- Supported lifelong learning and personal growth
- Allowed them to contribute their expertise toward a greater good
Whether you’re an RFL alum, a nonprofit or business professional, or someone looking to engage more deeply in the civic life of our region, there is a place for you here.
