Omar Sarabia
Omar was born in California and grew up between Chihuahua, Mexico and El Paso Texas. After graduating from the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua (UACH) with a degree in Engineering, he led an initiative to find and close more than 250 illegal water wells across the state of Chihuahua. He has lived in the Roaring Fork Valley since 2015 and currently serves as the director of Wilderness Workshop’s Defiende Nuestra Tierra program. Outside of work, Omar enjoys playing basketball, snowboarding with his wife and 11-year-old, and volunteering with the AVLT to translate local trail signs into Spanish. At RFL, he is excited to create more social cohesion between the Roaring Fork Valley’s Anglo and Latino communities.
