Alvarez Wortham spent a decade as a camera operator and photographer in Los Angeles before a career pivot led him to the culinary world. After starting with zero experience as a prep cook on tour with Cirque du Soleil. He quickly worked his way up to chef, touring in the US and Australia for two years on short term contracts. Alvarez eventually settled in the Roaring Fork Valley, pursuing his passions for skiing and culinary arts starting at the Little Nell, Matsuhisa and currently working as a private chef for the last six years. Over 13 years, he has grown professionally while embracing personal development and community engagement.

Alvarez joined the RFL Academy to challenge himself, embrace growth, and expand his leadership skills beyond his professional domain. He seeks opportunities to step out of his comfort zone and make meaningful contributions to the community.

Through his participation, Alvarez hopes to gain a framework for civic leadership, explore potential entrepreneurial ventures, and consider public service opportunities. He is excited to collaborate with fellow Academy participants to make a positive impact on the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valley, while continuing his journey of personal growth and purposeful engagement.
