Alicia Creyts
Alicia learned the importance of adapting to change as a military kid bouncing between schools and states, which led her to find rootedness in faith and family, rather than geography. Amidst moves, books became her portable companions, and her childhood spent reading compelled her to study literature at the University of California, Berkeley where she gravitated towards questions of how narrative shapes perspectives and outcomes. Alicia’s career has spanned a variety of unique experiences – English teacher in Japan. cultural assistant at a Japanese Consulate, divinity scholar at the University of Chicago, hospital chaplain, yoga student, and writer.
A desire for a sense of home led Alicia and her husband to the Roaring Fork Valley twelve years ago to raise their children. Alicia enjoys volunteering to support regenerative agriculture and is learning how to tend a flock of backyard chickens. Alicia comes to RFL excited to develop skills and strategies that will equip her to respond to the needs of newcomers in her community.
