At Roaring Fork Leadership, we believe leadership is built through experience, connection, and a commitment to community. That’s why we’re excited to welcome Marcus Thackston to the RFL Board of Directors.
Marcus is the Owner and Founder of Blend Web Marketing, where he brings a holistic approach to business strategy that blends website design, branding, marketing, and systems integration to help organizations thrive. As an entrepreneur for over a decade, Marcus has worked across industries, supporting both businesses and nonprofits in building strong, sustainable operations.
Marcus is no stranger to RFL. A graduate of the Academy in 2018, he has continued his leadership journey as a Civic Impact Project advisor and most recently supporting a team in the Academy 2026 cohort. His continued engagement reflects something we see often: RFL isn’t just a program, it’s a leadership practice that people return to again and again.
“Participating in RFL had a profound impact on me. I want to help bring that experience to more people and ensure RFL continues to evolve and stay relevant as the world changes.”
Marcus brings a global perspective to his work and leadership. He studied internationally in France and holds advanced degrees in international business, tourism, and hospitality. His professional journey has included everything from running his own company to managing a backcountry lodge, an experience that even earned him recognition in The Wall Street Journal.
Beyond his professional work, Marcus is deeply connected to the outdoors and the communities he serves. Whether rafting, snowboarding, or volunteering in search and
rescue, he shows up with curiosity, resilience, and a commitment to making a difference.
On the board, Marcus is especially interested in helping RFL continue to evolve; ensuring the organization stays relevant, impactful, and responsive to the needs of our communities (and yes, he’s already thinking about how we can continue to strengthen our digital presence).
We’re grateful for Marcus’s willingness to lead, contribute, and help shape the future of RFL.
Welcome, Marcus – we’re glad you’re here.
