This application is for participation in RFL Academy.

There are two steps to completing our application process.

1) Please fill out the following form to begin your application process.

2) We will also need a nomination or letter of recommendation from someone else within the community.  Our alumnus is an excellent source to fulfill this requirement.

Once we receive both of these forms, we will contact you to arrange to schedule your face-to-face interview.  Our application deadline for RFL Academy is July 15, 2024.

Graduation Requirements

We hear from our graduates that participation in RFL Academy is one of the most rewarding experiences they have had. With that said, it requires a substantial commitment of time and energy from each class member. The program consists of approx. 14 days, (usually the first Friday of each month) from 8 am - 5 pm, over a 10 month period, August – May. Please consider carefully the following requirements.

  • Inability to attend Retreat and Adaptive Leadership sessions will automatically eliminate a participant from being part of the program. 
  • Participants who miss more than 2 sessions will be required to withdraw from the program. The integrity of the program requires that participants be present at all sessions to both learn the leadership skills and to develop personal relationships.
  • We encourage participants to present RFL learnings to their staff or another group of their choosing, 1x per month.
  • Complete all reading and written assignments in a timely manner.
  • Respect the confidential nature of the comments and discussion made during the program.
  • Participate fully in the class project component of the program - the practical "hands-on" application of the leadership principles learned in class.
  • Tuition payment made in full by September 1st, or payment plan in place with the Executive Director.

Tuition Requirements
Tuition is $3,795. If you were to secure this amount and level of training independently, it would cost upwards of $10,000. If selected, a $500.00 non-refundable deposit is due by August 1. The remaining tuition balance is due by September 1. Monthly payment plans may be worked out. No refunds on tuition will be made after September 1. We have a limited amount of funding for scholarships available and scholarship applications are due by August 1. Tuition can be paid by the applicant, their employer, by scholarship assistance, or by a combination of these three sources.

Interview
Upon receiving your application, RFL will reach out to you within one week to schedule your RFL interview. This is part of the selection process and will be conducted via Zoom. They are conducted with the Executive Director and possibly a board members and/or alumni. These are brief, informal opportunities for us to get to know you.
