Olivia Niosi grew up in Oregon, studied in Japan and Italy, and graduated from Loyola University Chicago with a degree in Conservation Biology and Ecology. Her path eventually brought her to Colorado and the ghost town of Ashcroft, where she worked with Aspen Center for Environmental Studies. Following the surge in outdoor recreation during the pandemic, Olivia transitioned into public lands work with Pitkin County Open Space & Trails while also serving as an adaptive ski instructor with Challenge Aspen and Ascendigo.
Today, Olivia serves as the Maroon Bells Facilities and Operations Supervisor, helping train new land stewards and support one of Colorado’s most treasured landscapes. Outside of work, she loves hosting cooking parties and dancing to live music.
As leadership has become a larger part of her professional responsibilities, Olivia wants to build the confidence to fully own her leadership abilities. She is also passionate about seeing more young people represented in community decision making. Through RFL, Olivia hopes to learn from experienced leaders, connect with other community minded people, and become better equipped to help shape the valley’s future.
