Mike McLain grew up in Fort Collins and studied Construction Management at Colorado State University. A college internship brought him to Colorado’s Western Slope, where he discovered that the pace of life suited him. Through his career with FCI Constructors, Mike has worked on projects throughout Aspen, Basalt, Carbondale, Marble, Rifle, and surrounding communities. He particularly values being part of building hospitals, schools, courthouses, public buildings, and other structures that serve communities.
Mike traces much of his work ethic and leadership philosophy to experiences ranging from becoming an Eagle Scout to progressively taking on leadership responsibilities throughout his career. He enjoys learning new things and teaching others.
Outside of work, Mike’s life centers on his family and watching his young son and daughter experience the world. He also enjoys fishing, gardening, and exploring Colorado and America’s national parks. Through RFL, Mike hopes to broaden his perspective beyond the construction industry, expand his network, learn more about organizations serving the valley, and find new opportunities to volunteer in the community where he lives and works.
