Marjorie Jerez, Renewable Resources GIS Specialist at U.S. Forest Service – White River National Forest

Marjorie is a native South Floridian and a graduate of Florida State University with a B.S. in Environmental Studies, a B.S. in Social Science, and a M.S. in Geographic Information Science. After graduation, she moved to East Tennessee to serve with CAC AmeriCorps – an AmeriCorps program based out of Knoxville, TN. She served at Great Smoky Mountains National Park (GRSM) as a GIS and Data Management Technician and volunteered with various environmental community organizations. In between her two AmeriCorps service years at GRSM, she worked as a seasonal Cartographic Technician at Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, CA. Her current position with the White River National Forest is what brought her to the Roaring Fork Valley in October 2018. She volunteers her time by playing cello with the Symphony in the Valley. Marjorie saw the RLF Academy as an amazing opportunity to become a part of due to her career aspiration of becoming a National GIS Coordinator for a federal land management agency. Marjorie looks forward to further develop her leadership skills and become more involved with the Roaring Fork Valley community.
