Lauran Garcia is based in Silt, where she lives with her husband, young son, and two dogs. She moved to Colorado eight years ago drawn by the sunshine, mountains, and strong sense of community, and quickly found a home in the Colorado River Valley. Lauran spent more than a decade in restaurant management, an experience that deepened her appreciation for food as a connector between people, place, and the land that sustains us. Family is central to Lauran’s life, and she brings that same sense of care, connection, and belonging into her professional work.
Today she serves as Conservation Program Manager at Aspen Valley Land Trust, where she plays a critical role in protecting land in ways that support resilient ecosystems, promote habitat connectivity, protect open space for future generations, and sustain working farms and ranches. Lauran is known for her steady presence and her ability to notice when voices are missing from the conversation. She actively creates space for participation, elevates diverse perspectives, and helps teams and communities work together toward shared goals.
She joined the RFL Academy to further develop her leadership skills, expand her network across the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys, and gain practical strategies for guiding people and organizations through complexity. Through the program, she hopes to strengthen her ability to inspire others, foster resilient teams, and contribute meaningfully to the vitality of her community.
