Charlie Austin’s first experience as a teacher came in 1999, when he began instructing skiing in Minnesota. That early role led to opportunities across the country and ultimately sparked a lifelong interest in how people learn. Over time, Charlie transitioned into training in other industries, developing curricula, and studying pedagogy. This work evolved to a passion for leadership development and helping people connect their efforts to a greater purpose.
Charlie values clear communication, patience, and encouragement, qualities that have made him a trusted mentor and collaborator. His career in hospitality and training has centered on creating learning environments that strengthen accountability, foster culture, and inspire individuals to grow both personally and professionally.
Charlie joined the RFL Academy to expand his leadership practice and gain new perspectives from peers across the Roaring Fork Valley. He looks forward to exchanging ideas with other leaders, sharpening his skills in collaborative problem-solving, and bringing back insights that can empower teams, strengthen community connections, and drive meaningful change.
