Ben Sherman grew up in rural Minnesota, fostering a lifelong love of the outdoors. He graduated from Tufts University with a double major in Biology and Environmental Science and has spent the past six years serving as Education Director at Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers (RFOV). Ben is passionate about connecting people to nature through education and enjoys hiking, birding, skiing, creating art, and exploring the small wonders of the natural world, from moss to wildflowers.

Ben joined the RFL Academy to continue his personal and professional growth, seeking opportunities to learn from other passionate leaders and broaden his impact as an educator. He values collaboration and views leadership as a chance to support, inspire, and guide others.

Through his participation, Ben hopes to expand his professional network and strengthen his ability to serve local students and communities in the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valley. By connecting people to the outdoors and promoting environmental stewardship, he aims to make a lasting positive impact, building relationships that enhance both his growth and that of the community.
