Aasta Shechter is a lifelong Aspen resident whose story combines deep community roots, determination, and a willingness to keep challenging herself. Figure skating has been part of her life since childhood, and years of dedication led her to become a U.S. Figure Skating Gold Medalist. She later became a skating coach and found particular meaning in mentoring young athletes.
That same persistence has carried into her professional life. Aasta recently earned an Associate Degree in Accounting from Colorado Mountain College while working full time at The Romero Group, balancing demanding academic and professional responsibilities. Outside of work, she enjoys off roading and exploring the Rocky Mountain backcountry.
Aasta joined RFL Academy because she actively seeks experiences that challenge her and move her beyond her comfort zone. Through the Academy, she hopes to strengthen her leadership abilities, build greater confidence in leading others, and develop new approaches to complex challenges. She also looks forward to forming meaningful relationships that will deepen her engagement with the broader community she has called home throughout her life.
