Paige Aube
Paige AubeHuman Resources Business Partner, Aspen Valley Hospital
Paige Aube recently moved to the Roaring Fork Valley from Pueblo, CO. She received her Master’s in Human Resources Management from the University of Phoenix in 2012, and currently holds a Senior in Professional Human Resources Certification. Paige is employed at Aspen Valley Hospital as a Human Resources Business Partner, and her hobbies are making jewelry, playing her saxophone, and taking in the beautiful mountain sights.
John Barker
John BarkerDeputy Operations Manager, City of Aspen Community Development Department
John graduated from Colorado College with a degree in Philosophy. He enjoys taking full advantage of the Aspen outdoor community while also giving back by volunteering for English in Action and the Alfred A. Braun Hut system. John is excited to join Roaring Fork Leadership as he is eager to continue to learn and grow as a professional while also meeting new and exciting people in his community.
Lawrence Bond
Lawrence BondHuman Resources Generalist, RFTA
Lawrence is a native of Macon, Georgia and received his undergraduate decree from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. From 2002-2006, he lived in the Roaring Fork Valley enjoying the cultural and recreational activities in the valley. In 2006, he left for law school and received his law degree from Villanova University of Law in 2009. He then returned to the valley and worked for Balcomb & Green, P.C. Lawrence currently works for RFTA in the Human Resources Department. He is the President of the United Way Battlement to the Bells. He, his wife, and their two kids live in Carbondale.
Kelly Brockett
Kelly BrockettProperty Manager/Human Resources Coordinator, East West Resorts
Kelly was raised in the Midwest and graduated from Purdue University in 2002 with a degree in Communications. After moving to Aspen she was employed as an Executive Assistant to the President of a Real Estate Development Company before joining Snowmass Hospitality, which was later purchased by East West Resorts. She has earned her Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) and AMS (Accredited Manager Specialist) designations and is a licensed Community Association Manger (CAM) with the State of Colorado.

Kelly lives with her husband and two sons in Blue Lake where they enjoying playing at the lake, hiking, biking, and gardening. She is past chair of the Snowmass Arts Advisory Board, past board member for The Little Red School House, and Sinclair Meadows Homeowners Association.

Nicole Christianson
Nicole ChristiansonSenior Loan Officer, Colorado Lending Source
Nicole graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelors of Science in Business/Finance. She has previously volunteered with GlenX, Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers and on the board of the Roaring Fork Young Professionals. Nicole has lived in the community for 5 years and cares about making it the best place to live, work, and play!

Nicole is particularly interested in helping small businesses start and thrive here. She continues to meet impressive and active community members who are former graduates of the RFL program so she looks forward to participating this year with other current and future leaders to become a better version of herself, both professionally and personally!

Erin Delk
Erin DelkMember Relations Associate, G100
Erin received her undergraduate degree in Economics with an emphasis in Business from CU Boulder. She spent many years chasing the winters as a ski instructor based out of Aspen and Queenstown, New Zealand. She trained her clientele to follow her around the world, but finally decided to put down her roots in the Roaring Fork Valley.

She currently works for G100 Network, an executive peer to peer network.

Erin volunteers with Roaring Fork Cycling to support their marketing and events and occasionally can be seen tail guiding a mountain bike group. Erin is excited to learn new tools to implement in both her personal and professional life through her involvement in RFL.

Erin Earley
Erin EarleyMember Relations Associate, Alpine Bank
Erin graduated from High School in Cheshire, CT and attended Naugatuck Valley Community College pursuing a Major in Business Management. Erin volunteers yearly as the Director of the cashier department for Aspen Middle School’s Annual Ski Swap, and enjoys the challenge of finding 20 people that are willing to volunteer to do math at 7 am on a Saturday. Erin was interested in RFL Academy after hearing stories from co-workers and friends about the organization, and how it was an opportunity to meet people from around the valley that were working together to improve themselves and their community. Erin is looking forward to building stronger communication skills and to becoming a more impactful member of her community.
Alex Ewer
Alex EwerEngineer, SGM
Alex graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Civil Engineering. Alex has enjoyed being a member of New Life Fellowship and Garfield County Search and Rescue with leadership opportunities at his work, home, church, and volunteer organizations, Alex was excited to learn how to better serve others by growing his leadership skills. Alex is looking forward to learning how to better encourage and serve others in our community.
Raquel Flinker
Raquel FlinkerProject Manager/ROW Manager, City of Aspen
Raquel has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro and a master’s degree in Geosciences (Hydrology focus) from the University of Texas at Austin. She enjoys teaching at the Aspen Jewish Congregation’s Hebrew school and is starting to get more involved with the Manaus Valley Project. Raquel is always looking for ways to improve herself and thinks RFL Academy is a great opportunity. She is excited to meet people from many different areas and backgrounds and learning and working with them on valley-wide issues.
Kate Henion
Kate HenionMarketing + Engagement Manager, CORE
Kate graduated from the University of Connecticut (UConn) with a bachelor’s degree in History and Political Science. She moved to the Roaring Fork Valley to take full advantage of the local outdoor industry, working for the Glenwood Adventure Company in Glenwood Springs, shortly after graduating. She found her way to Denver with the Public Interest Network, but was quickly drawn back to the Western Slope with a position at CORE. With an eye for outreach and engagement, Kate is excited to join RFL Academy and create meaningful connections in her community. She’s up for the challenge and looks forward to honing in on her leadership and communication skills.
Wendy Huber
Wendy HuberRector/Vicar/Priest, St. Barnabas Episcopal Church
Wendy is a “third act” priest after a career as an attorney and consultant specializing in conflict management and dispute resolution. During her career as a lawyer she was executive director for several non-profit organizations and served as the executive for a $2.3 billion trust with more than 100 employees. Wendy attended the University of Wyoming and received her undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Houston. Wendy looks forward to learning new things about herself and her community with interesting and fun participants and instructors. Wendy is certain you can “teach an old dog new tricks”!
Brent Johnson
Brent JohnsonProject Engineer, Shaw Construction, Inc.
Brent is originally from Boulder, Colorado and graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Construction Management and a minor in Business. Brent moved to Basalt just under a year ago and volunteers with the Roaring Fork Conservancy. He worked on the construction of the new Aspen Police Department and adjacent employee housing. He is currently working on high end custom town homes at the base of the 1A lift. An interest in expanding and improving skill sets and becoming more involved in the Roaring Fork community is what drove Brent to participate in RFL Academy.
Chris Klingelheber
Chris KlingelheberSki Patroller, Aspen Skiing Company
Chris graduated from the University of Montana in 2003 with a B.A. in Anthropology. After working with the Montana Conservation Corps, an AmeriCorps Program, Chris worked as an Outdoor Educator for Denver Public Schools. Chris moved to the mountains 6 years ago to teach 5th grade Social Studies at Carbondale Middle School. He is currently working as a Ski Patroller at Snowmass. Chris has done some volunteer work with Lift-Up and is looking forward to getting more involved with other non-profit groups in the valley. He sees RFL Academy as a great place to gain new leadership skills, meet new people, and get involved in the community.
Steve Matzi
Steve MatziPool Manager, Glenwood Springs Hot Springs Pool
Steve graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Outdoor Recreation, Leadership and Management. Steve enjoys volunteering with youth coaching in New Castle for his boys and the New Castle community. Steve is truly excited to learn new ideas and approaches to leadership while working with youth and adults in a fun and exciting environment. Steve is looking forward to putting his new skills to use immediately with his staff at the Hot Springs Pool and hoping to add leadership and guidance to all kids he works with through youth sports.
Karen McConnell
Karen McConnellOfficer Manager - Water Department, City of Aspen
Karen was born and raised in Kansas and could hardly wait to call Colorado “home”. Karen has lived in the valley for over 20 years now. She graduated from Colorado Mountain College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in May, 2018.
Karen has volunteered for the following: Rock the Vote, Adopt a Tourist, Forest Conservancy, local athletic events and her local church.
RFL is intriguing to Karen. She’d like to meet other individuals and forge friendships and work towards giving back to this awesome community. Karen believes in continual self-improvement and being a life-time learner. Karen hopes that RFL Academy will aid in further developing new and existing skills.
Jeff Munn
Jeff MunnOwner/Coach, Executive Leadership Coaching
Jeff has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a JD from the University of Chicago Law School. Jeff has been working closely with organizations in the Valley that are devoted to bringing entrepreneurs together with investors, infrastructure and other needed resources. When Jeff learned about RFL through other leaders he’s met in the Valley, the intense learning and team-building opportunities made it a must-do for him. As am executive coach, Jeff is looking forward to continuing his own personal and professional development, as well as connecting with other leaders in the Valley who are wanting to make a difference.
Jennifer O'Keeffe
Jennifer O'KeeffeAssistant Property Manager, The Romero Group, LLC
Jen graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Communications. Jen has volunteered 14 years (+ counting) at The Aspen Community School, whose mission is to foster life-long learning, something she believes in for herself as well. Jen’s interest in other cultures and desire to become more involved in her community led to her involvement in English in Action, which “bridges the communication gap” through one-on-one tutoring of English. Jen’s interest in RFL is a natural continuation of her desire for personal growth while learning about other perspectives. She looks forward to learning new skills, developing personal relationships and contributing to social issues.
Katherine Peach
Katherine PeachOwner, Peach Ink Consulting
A Michigan native, Katherine embraced Manifest Destiny by moving to Los Angeles armed with a journalism degree and dreams of sun and surf. A relentless storyteller, she translated her skills as a travel, wellness, and luxury lifestyle writer to develop long-term digital strategies for brands large and small. Never one to settle down, she moved to Aspen after one charming visit and learned how to survive snow in June (pro tip: acquire a Canada Goose parka and drink lots of hot toddies). Navigating the world of nonprofits, Katherine led PR and social media marketing for the Aspen Art Museum, including its annual summer benefits WineCrush and ArtCrush, then cultivated donor relations for Jazz Aspen Snowmass. In RFL she hopes to build new leadership skills, expand her communication skill set and be more deeply involved in the community.
Margaret Plumb
Margaret PlumbLandscape Architect, Design Workshop
Meg graduated from Dickinson College with a BA in Sociology and from University of Virginia with a master in Landscape Architecture. Meg has served on the Bike, Pedestrian and Trails Commission in Carbondale since 2016. Meg is excited to join RLF and is looking forward to expanding her theoretical understanding of leadership and learning practical skills that she can apply professionally and personally.
Bentley Reist
Bentley ReistMortgage Loan Processor, Alpine Bank
Bentley graduated in 2008 from the University of Denver with degrees in Psychology, Criminology, and a minor in Leadership. Her desire for personal development lead to her interest in RFL Academy. This is an opportunity to become more deeply involved with the needs of the community and formulate a plan to enhance the valley. Bentley is looking forward to collaborating with a group of like-minded leaders and building a network of area professionals
Kyle Ryan
Kyle RyanDeputy, Pitkin County
Kyle graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Political Science, minoring in criminal justice . Kyle has enjoyed volunteering at the Basalt Fire Department where he currently serves as a Lieutenant. RFL Academy appealed to Kyle as a way to refine and expand upon his leadership skills while continuing to contribute to the community in the Roaring Fork Valley. Kyle hopes to gain tools and strategies that he can use in all parts of his life.
Ron Ryan
Ron RyanUndersheriff, Pitkin County
Ron has served in public safety for over 30 years in various roles, including volunteer firefighter and EMT, peace officer for the City of Aspen, medico-legal death investigator for the Pitkin County Coroner’s Office, and – for the past 25 years – deputy for the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office. Ron believes strongly that continual learning and self-improvement are never-ending pursuits, and are especially important when working as a public servant.
John Stelzriede
John StelzriedeSenior Vice President, Alpine Bank
John graduated from Roaring Fork High School and received his bachelor’s degree in Business Management at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley and graduated with honors from the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington in Seattle. John has been a long time member of the Glenwood Springs Noon Rotary Club, currently serves on the Valley View Hospital Foundation Finance Committee, and is a past president of the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce and founding Board Member of Defiance Thrift Store. Having heard from a number of leaders in the community about their life-changing RFL experience, John decided to participate in RFL Academy. John is hoping to gain additional insights and perspectives on leadership as he continues to grow professionally and personally.
Katie Tabor
Katie TaborLandscape Designer, Connect One Design
Katie varied science background includes a BS in Animal Science and an MLA from the Robert Reich School of Landscape Architecture at Louisiana State University. Katie made her way to the mountains to pursue professional practice and engage in the natural world around her. She loves spending time in the community and volunteers as often as she can with ACES and the Aspen Historical Society. Her passion for knowledge and the social welfare of those around her spurred Katie to participate in RFL Academy. She looks forward to using the knowledge and connections she gains to enhance the social fabric of the community around her.
Marcus Thackston
Marcus ThackstonOwner, Blend Web Marketing
Working in marketing related positions for the past 10 years both locally in Colorado and internationally in France and Chile, Marcus founded his current venture Blend Web Marketing out of a desire to help small businesses thrive in mountain towns without affordable marketing solutions. Holding a B.A. in Business Administration – Tourism and Hospitality Management from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO, an M.Sc. in Tourism Management & Hospitality Management from the La Rochelle Business School of Tourism on the western coast of France and a Master of Business, Law and Economics from the University of Angers in Angers, France, Marcus’ outlook on small business is unique. When he’s not working on a local businesses marketing strategy or helping a business get a website designed and launched, you can find him on his days off planning the next big adventure in the backcountry of Colorado and throughout the world.
Kim Wells
Kim WellsFoundation Specialist, Valley View
In addition to managing the daily operations as Foundation Specialist, Kim also coordinates major events such as the annual Rally the Valley fundraiser to support patients of the Callaway•Young Cancer Center at Valley View.
Kim originally received her Bachelor of Science degree in animal science and has worked in various capacities in that field during her career – notably as a veterinary technician and as a boarding kennel manager. She continues to find joy in this field due to her volunteer work with Smiling Goat Ranch, helping individuals with autism and PTSD find healing and comfort through animal-assisted therapy.
Kim was drawn to Roaring Fork Leadership as a way to step out of her comfort zone and expand her network. She is looking forward to the challenge of breaking out of her routine and making meaningful connections with others who both work and play in the Roaring Fork Valley.
Brian Westerlind

Brian graduated from Grinnell College in Iowa with a degree in Biology with a Pre-Med focus. Born and raised in the Valley, he pursued medicine in Iowa prior to moving home in 2016. In Iowa he enjoyed coaching, looking forward to similar opportunities here in the Valley, also involved with Rotary of Aspen. Always looking to grow his personal and professional skills and relationships, Roaring Fork Leadership provides an opportunity to continue and refine his ability to encourage others to grow and succeed.
Cullen White
Cullen WhiteBranch Office Manager, Edward Jones
Cullen graduated with an MBA and MSW from Florida State University in the spring of 2017 and moved to the Roaring Fork Valley later that summer. What began as a brief visit quickly turned into a new life chapter. The beauty of the valley and the steadfast generosity and integrity of its residents swiftly won her heart. Since then, she has been eager to get her hands dirty and give something back to the community.
Cullen is an avid proponent of financial literacy, particularly among the youth of our community. She is also on the board of Spring Board, an offshoot of the Aspen Community Foundation devoted to nurturing cradle to career initiatives throughout the valley. Cullen is looking forward to the learning experience RFL Academy offers – she is inspired by the prospect of effecting tangible, positive change for her community with the help of a group of dynamic, forward-thinking fellow residents.
Like all Coloradoans, Cullen is an outdoor enthusiast and is her best self on the hiking trail. She also loves to run and is an avid reader – you can often find her adventuring in the local libraries.

Jill graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in Communication. The opportunity to become involved and better her leadership skills professionally drew her to the program. As a recent Aspen resident, Jill is looking forward to working with the other leaders and becoming an active member of the community.
