Alana Hanks, a Colorado native, moved to the Roaring Fork Valley at age eight. She cultivated a lifelong love for the outdoors through family adventures and Aspen School District experiential education programs. Alana earned dual BAs in Environmental Studies and Cultural Anthropology from Santa Clara University and worked in outdoor environmental education and wilderness therapy before attending the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. She founded Skin to Soul Holistic Massage and Wellness in Glenwood Springs in 2008 and continues to serve the local community. Alana is actively involved in charitable work, including long-term support for Destiny Garden School in Mtongwe, Kenya. She resides in Silt with her husband, Jake, and their dog, Banjo.
Alana joined the RFL Academy to challenge herself, deepen her leadership, and create meaningful community connections. She is passionate about connecting people to opportunities, fostering collaboration, and promoting community growth.
Through the program, Alana hopes to expand her network, explore creative leadership approaches, and implement action-based initiatives that benefit the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valley communities. She is eager to gain inspiration, share ideas, and collaborate with like-minded leaders.
