What brought you to the Roaring Fork Valley and how long have you been here? My partner and I were looking for a change in lifestyle. He is originally from the Roaring Fork Valley, so we traveled here often visiting his family and finally decided to stay permanently in August 2017.

What was your most interesting or unusual job? In my twenties, I was a personal trainer and group exercise instructor for an all-women’s health club. That experience ignited a passion for health and have been working in the health and wellness industry ever since (over a decade). Now, my focus is on education and content management within the industry.

Why did you apply to be in RFL Mastermind? The primary reason I applied to the RFL Mastermind program was to build my professional network. I thought surrounding myself with powerful like-minded women would be an excellent place to start.

What are your thoughts about the first session? I walked away from the first session with a clear idea of what I needed to work on to improve my leadership skills. I was impressed by Nancy’s ability to offer direct and applicable feedback.

What is your definition of success? Success is living a life that is in alignment with your core values.

What are you most proud of in the last year? I’m most proud of starting my passion project, Fork & Pan, providing fun and engaging nutrition and cooking demonstrations for kids, adults, and families in the Roaring Fork Valley.

What do regret not doing in the last year? I can’t say there is anything I regret not doing in the last year.

What’s something you want to do in the next year that you’ve never done before? The thing I’ve never done before, but want to do this year is grow my business and offer year round programming.

What’s the best advice you ever heard? The best advice I’ve ever heard is you can’t control people’s actions, but you can control your reaction to them.

What would you say to someone contemplating applying to RFL Mastermind? Take the opportunity to invest in yourself. You’ll learn ways to refine your leadership skill in an environment that requires accountability and encourages support.
