Project Description

Communications Supervisor at Holy Cross Energy

Kirsten attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, Colorado with a B.S. Degree in Journalism, Specialty in Advertising and Art History. She volunteers with Mountain Valley Horse Rescue, Eagle, Colorado As an avid horse lover (but never having the means to actually own and board a horse) I volunteered for MVHR and assisted with the day-to-day care of horses, cleaning and mucking stalls, feeding and anything else that was needed at the rescue. As a member of the board of directors, Kirsten provided marketing support and planning for various events, maintained the website, and developed collateral for the organization. Her true passion when volunteering for MVHR was helping horses overcome physical and mental injuries, abuse, and neglect – then to be adopted out to a forever home.

As someone fairly new to the area and in a newly appointed management position, she is excited to continue to learn new skills and connect with the community through the RFL Academy program. In a time when she has been seeking additional knowledge or volunteerism, this opportunity couldn’t come at a better time.
